NY Times reports Cheney told top aide about Plame
With indictments expected this week, the CIA leak investigation got a little more interesting today with the NY Times reporting that Cheney was involved in the leak of CIA agent Valerie Plame’s identitiy. A very similar story appeared on the US News and World Report website last week, but that report did not receive any where as much news coverage as the NY Times article.
Unfortunately it is not clear whether Cheney, Libby or Rove will be indicted and if they are indicted, whether it will be for outing an undercover CIA agent or for another crime, like perjury.
Regardless, this investigation may knock off three top birds with one stone and the prospect of that has me excited.
